music theory,24 music keys, music scales, guitar chords

If you made it this far, then you have an interest in music and you came to the right place! Musicmarks is a reference site on music theory for musicians of all skill levels.

It's a good learning guide for the person beginning out, and a great reference for the intermediate to well established musician. It's a place to find what you need to keep the music flowing, { so to speak }.

Theres information on all 24 music keys. The 12 Major keys & the 12 Minor keys. Each key you will find has a music scale section, in which I call Music Scales in the Keys.Music scale charts are presented for each of the 12 major keys and 12 minor keys showing you the different types of scales within the key and the notes that make up the scale.

Each music key also has a special section for the chords within that particular key. Chord charts are presented for each of the major keys and minor keys, that display the 7 main chords for that key,the notes that make up each chord, and the position each chord holds within that particular key. The navigation bar on the right, will link you to these sections if your here for a quick reference.

The Library gives you a brief summary what each section has to offer on this site. The Sitemap gives you a link to every page created on this site. For all the guitar players out there, a place you may find of interest on this site is Guitar Triad Chords, Here you will find charts for each of the 12 Major keys, that display triad chords which are 3 note chords, using the 4 different string combinations. All 7 of the main chords in the key are displayed on the chart, showing you the different positions you can play each of the chords on the guitar.

Besides the reference this site has to offer on the 24 music keys, theres a section called, "Constructing Music Scales-Chords" Here you will find out how scales and chords are constructed using interval steps. An explanation of what a Interval Step is and how to use them, is all found on this page.
Going through the Constructing Music Scales-Chords, you'll find charts that show you the different interval steps used, for finding the notes in the different types of music scales. In this section also, theres a page called "Constructing Music Chords". This chart gives you the Interval Steps used, to find the notes for any particular chord.

And with this being said, once again welcome to my site, and I hope it can be of some help to you. Thanks for stopping by and Good Luck with your music!
